40 students complete the packaging technology course at IOPPN

As many as 40 students graduated with a one-year diploma and certificate in packaging technology from the Institute of Packaging Professionals Nigeria (IOPPN).

At a graduation ceremony held last week at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel Victoria Island, Lagos, some of the graduating students were honored for their excellence.

It was gathered that the awards ceremony titled NaijaStar Awards for Packaging Excellence was put on by IOPPN), Nigeria Packaging (NP) and the Nigeria Packaging Academy (NPA).

It has been designed to celebrate excellence in the packaging sector in Nigeria and also to recognize organizations and individuals who have positively contributed to the transformation of the industry through safe, sustainable, quality products and services. and innovative.

Commenting on the awards, the President of the Africa Packaging Organization and Executive Director of the IOPPN, Mr. Ahmed Alex Omah said, “Recognition of outstanding and outstanding contributors and professionals in the packaging industry forms the basis on which the NaijaStar Awards are established.

“The Institute of Packaging Nigeria is committed to rewarding excellence and professionalism through a credible, transparent and trustworthy process. We also appreciate our supporting partners who made this event a success.”

Shedding more light on what the NaijaStar awards entail, the organizers noted that the categories include; Food, Beverages, Hygiene and Household, Cosmetics and Beauty, E-commerce, Pharmaceutical and Medical, Industrial Packaging and Transport.

Others include Point of Sale Packaging, Point of Sale Packaging, Luxury Packaging, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, and a Lifetime Achievement Award.

During the event, 22 graduating students from the 2021 session of the Nigeria Packaging Academy, who completed all the requirements, received special honor as Certified Packaging Professionals.

Among them was Ms. Damilola Olaide, who emerged as the top student to graduate from the one-year diploma program in packaging technology.

The NaijaStar awards are sponsored by Fairtrade Messer – organizers of agrofood and plastprintpack, Sona Group of Companies, FAE Envelope and SBA.
