Pharmaceutical Packaging Online Training Course

Glass technology services is hosting a series of free online webinars from 1st Walk on pharmaceutical packaging.

All three conferences will offer advice to drug producers and pharmaceutical glass manufacturers on how to ensure that the packaging selected is fit for purpose.

The webinars will take place every Tuesday at 11am (GMT) for three weeks from 1st march to 15and March.

The series, titled Recalls of pharmaceutical glasses: causes and preventive measureswill present a lecture in each key area: Glass Cracking and Breakage, Drug-Glass Interaction, and Out-of-Dimensional Glassware.

These areas were selected because they are the most common causes of product recalls that the company is asked to prevent.

59 product recalls between January 2014 and July 2021 were cited as specifically related to glass packaging materials.

Glass Technology Services believes it is essential that the correct packaging is selected for the product it contains, as the consequences of pharmaceutical recalls can be severe.

Amy Ashton, Chemistry Lab Manager at Glass Technology Services, said:

“We are delighted to share our expertise around this subject. It brings together the key points to inform and guide those involved in the choice of packaging in the pharmaceutical industry.

It’s also the first time we’ve chosen a series of topics that span multiple departments in our business and it’s definitely something we want to do more of in the future.
